How to find the best price on trivago

Many of you might wonder how you can find even better prices on trivago. The answer is really simple: using our price filters in your search. There are two important tools for this: the maximum price indicator and sort by price option.
It´s worth pointing out that depending on the selected travel dates of your search and the individual travel agency offers, the results may vary. This post aims to give you some handy tips for your future searches in order to get even better prices!

Let's make an example of search optimisation: we would like to book a hotel in the Algarve region of Portugal, for the beginning of September. To do this we start by including the data in our search, i.e. Double Room in Algarve from 1st to 2nd September. Here are the results:

The first results which appear are in order of popularity by default. This list is based on hotel reviews and the number of bookings placed through trivago. At first it seems that the best deal is 83 euro - a very acceptable price for a 4-star hotel. But of course, we would like to find a cheaper deal that fits better with our budget.
To optimise our search, we will apply the maximum price indicator and the sort by price option.

Using the maximum price indicator, we can limit our search to just hotel rooms between the lowest available price and the highest price we would like to pay. In this case, we set a maximum of 60 euro in our search criteria.

From the subsequent results, we see that some hotel offers are now discarded as the room price was above 83 euro. However, we can go one better and continue by sorting our results by price. This tool will then show the relevant results, shown from the lowest to the highest price. By clicking on the price filter, we get the following:

VoilĂ ! Estalagem do Guadiana Hotel, a 4-star hotel in the town of Alcoutim for just 30 euro per night and room. The trivago search offers many other possibilities to filter our results. In many cases, by using the tools as above, we find hostels and B&B. To further restrict our search and find a hotel that matches our  preferences, we can select the required number of stars in the stars filter, which will then be applied to our results.
We hope you have found this post useful and that you will now be able to find even better offers on trivago!
